- Nigerians say they don't support the building of a church the size of Ibadan
- In a poll, 57% of Nigerians on Twitter said there is no need for such a religious auditorium
- On Facebook, 80% of respondents said they don't support the building of such church
Nigerians have told the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Adeboye that they don't need another church the size of Ibadan.
This was said in reaction to Adeboye's claim that God revealed he will build an auditorium as big as Ibadan before he dies.
According to Adeboye, he heard from God that he is not going to die until he has built them an auditorium as big as one of the biggest cities in West Africa, Ibadan.
In a poll conducted by Legit.ng on Facebook and Twitter between Monday, December 16 to 17, Nigerians insisted that there is no need for such structure.
The poll read: "With religious centres all over, does Nigeria need another church the size of Ibadan as proposed by Pastor Adeboye?"
According to the poll, 57% of respondents on Twitter said they do not support the building of a new church the size of Ibadan while 80% on Facebook said they don't support the building of such a church.
Of the respondents, 19% said they don't care while 13% said the church should decide.
Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng had reported that Daddy Freeze reacted to the news. According to the OAP, Nigeria needs factories the size of Ibadan in the country and not churches.
In an Instagram post, Daddy Freeze wrote: “Dear Pastor Adeboye, we need factories the size of Ibadan NOT churches, we have way too many churches already.
With 10 churches on each street, we have so much religion, so much hunger and underdevelopment yet so little love.”
