Cristiano Ronaldo has been advised to hang his boots before he goes out of colour, according to UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Russian fighter is a close pal to the Portuguese striker and both stars are approaching the end of their careers.

The 31-year-old believes the Juventus striker should call it quits in the interest of his career.

"Nobody will be around forever, so it's important to leave at the right time," Khabib said.

"How old is Ronaldo? 34? At 35 he won't have the same conditioning and reaction time. It doesn't matter if it's Cristiano or Khabib, people will come and take your place.

"My advice to him, and to me as well, is to leave at the right time.

"If you don't, you'll be left as there'll be new champions, younger, hungrier, more motivated guys. You won't have the motivation you've had at the beginning of your career towards its end."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Philippe Senderos, former Arsenal star, has ended his football career at the age of 34.

The Switzerland defender played most of his career in the English topflight division with Arsenal, Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton.
