Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze who plays for Spanish club Villarreal has emerged as January 2020 transfer target for Premier League side Chelsea.

Chelsea's two transfer window ban has been overturned and manager Frank Lampard is preparing to bring in fresh legs to Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens.

According to the report by UK Telegraph, Chelsea coach Frank Lampard has a transfer budget of £150 million to spend on players in January 2020.

And 20-year-old Samuel Chukwueze who has been superb this season for Villarreal is on the list of wingers wanted by Frank Lampard.

Others according to the report are Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey.

Chelsea chiefs must be aware that Samuel Chukwueze has a release clause of €63 million and the Blues must meet this target to have the chance of luring him to England.

Two years ago, Samuel Chukwueze was tipped with a move to join Arsenal under former manager Arsene Wenger, but it was Villarreal who got his signature.

So far, the Super Eagles star who was impressive at the 2019 AFCON has played 54 games for Villarreal scoring 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently occupying the fourth position on the Premier League standings with 29 points after 17 games.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is in search of a replacement for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during the January transfer window.

According to a report on Bleacher Report, Lampard is not satisfied with Arrizabalaga’s performances this season as the Spaniard has conceded 37 goals already with a save percentage of 56%.
