Philippe Senderos, former Arsenal star, has ended his football career at the age of 34.

The Switzerland defender played most of his career in the English topflight division with Arsenal, Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton.

Senderos won the FA Cup with the Gunners but missed out on the unbeaten run of the 2003-04 season due to back and foot injuries.

The 34-year-old who won 57 caps for his country including three World Cup tournaments took to his social media handle to make the announcement.

"I couldn't be more thankful for the blessings and opportunities I've had over the years."

He also had brief spells with Scottish side Glasgow Rangers and Serie A giants AC Milan and was quick to thank all the teams that gave him the opportunity.

Senderos also played in Major League Soccer (MLS) for Houston Dynamo from 2017-18 and he ended his career in his native Switzerland with FC Chiasso in the second tier.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Deontay Wilder has responded to Anthony Joshua's call for a unification bout, saying that the fight has to happen.
