NAF jets obliterate ISWAP/BHT meeting venue at Kollaram, Borno

Many terrorists have lost their lives in Borno state as the Nigerian Air force killed several members of ISWAP and Boko Haram sect.

The terrorists were gathered at a meeting point in a building at Kollaram, Borno state.

The Air Force disclosed this on Monday, December 16.

“In continuation of Operation Rattle Snake, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole has neutralized some Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters as they assembled for a meeting at their hideout in Kollaram on the fringes of Lake Chad in the Northern part of Borno State.

”The operation was executed on 14 December 2019 following credible intelligence reports indicating that some of the ISWAP leaders had assembled for a meeting in one of 2 buildings at the centre of the settlement.

“The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets dispatched by the ATF to attack the location scored accurate hits on the target building completely obliterating it and killing its terrorists’ occupants.

“The NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain its efforts to completely destroy all remnants of the terrorists in the Northeast,” Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that new dawn came the way of some officers as the Air Force Council (AFC) approved their promotion.

The AFC approved the promotion of 99 senior officers to the next higher ranks in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

This was disclosed in a statement by NAF director of public relations and information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola.

He said the affected senior officers comprise 13 Air Commodores, who were promoted to the rank of Air Vice Marshals (AVMs), 35 Group Captains who were promoted to the rank of Air Commodores and 51 Wing Commanders promoted to the rank of Group Captains.

Those promoted to the rank of AVM include Air Commodore Ayoola Jolasinmi, Hassan Abubakar, Jackson Yusuf, Austine Imafidor, Pius Oahimire, Dalhat Ladan, Cosmas Ozougwu, Isah Muhammad, Sunday Makinde, Abubakar Yusuf., Abubakar Adamu, Ado Inuwa and Ademola Durotoye.
