Ijaws warn Sule Lamido over attacks on ex-president Jonathan
- The Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG) says it finds the attack on ex-president Goodluck Jonathan by a former governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido, unacceptable
- IMG leader, Joseph Evah, says Lamido should keep Jonathan out of his issues and face his life

Ijaws under the umbrella of the Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG) have warned former Jigawa state governor to watch his words after he attacked former president, Goodluck Jonathan over the outcome of the recent Bayelsa governorship election.
Daily Sun newspaper reports that the warning was issued on behalf of Ijaws by IMG leader Joseph Evah.
Evah claimed that Lamido's recent attack on Jonathan was an attempt to blackmail and rubbish a son of the Ijaws.
He also described Lamido's action as childish and dripping with wicked intentions.
Evah knocked Lamido for “attempting to soil the personality of Jonathan who refused to enrich himself by corrupt means."
He added: “The Ijaw people are tell- ing Lamido that his outburst against Jonathan over Malabo issue is childish, Jonathan as the executive president has the power to direct a matter to be settled out of court, just like Buhari has the power to tell Northern governors to negotiate with bandits, criminals and drop their charges as long as they are ready to repent."
Legit.ng recalls that Jonathan recently reacted to allegations against him by Lamido, who claimed that the former president supported the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded Bayelsa gubernatorial election to escape from being probed over his involvement in the Malabu oil deal.

But Jonathan in a statement by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, said the former governor of Jigawa was only peddling falsehood.

The former president said he really does not know why the former governor chose to speak as he did, especially with such hostility, contempt and lies against him.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that apart from Lamido, a group tagged Peoples Democratic Party Elders Forum accused Jonathan of trading off the party’s victory in the November 16 Bayelsa governorship election.

The group’s chairman, Chief Benson Odoko, claimed in a statement that Jonathan fraternized with leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
Odoko said it was not debatable that ex-president Jonathan worked against the party that made him deputy governor, governor, vice president and president of the country.
