The United Kingdom has congratulated 717 cadets of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) that graduated from the Complex Air Ground Environment (CAGE) course delivered by the British Military Advisory Training Team (BMATT).
The UK congratulated the cadets in a tweet on Wednesday, December 11. It added that it is committed to delivering capacity building training and is proud to show the great unity between countries.
The UK disclosed that since 2015 the BMATT has successfully qualified nearly 4000 students on the Complex Air Ground Environment (CAGE) course.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Friday, December 6, also disclosed that it graduated a total of 717 officials made up of 623 regiments and 94 Air police personnel, who have been trained in Force Protection in Complex Air-Ground Environment (FP-CAGE).
NAF said with this feat, it has increased the number of officials grounded in FP-CAGE since the force began working with the British Military Advisory Training Team (BMATT) in 2015 to 3,629.
According to Ibikunle Daramola, NAF's director of public relation and information, the graduating ceremony took place took the Shittu Alao Hall, Regiment Training Centre (RTC), Kaduna state.
Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in his speech advised the graduants to do their utmost to protect the nation's territorial integrity and democracy as they remain loyal to constituted authority.
In another report, the Osun state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for continually evolving ideas to tackle the menace of insurgency and other forms of criminality in the country.
The governor made the commendation on Thursday, December 5 during the NAF Counter-Terrorism (CT) simulation exercise, nicknamed “BUJE EKUN”, held along the Akure-Oshogbo expressway, Ipetu-Ijesha in Osun state.
