APC crisis: Buhari reportedly tells party members that Oshiomhole out to follow procedure

Reports have emerged that President Muhammadu Buhari has advised members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to follow the normal procedure if they want the party's national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, removed.
Daily Trust, citing top sources within the party, reports that Buhari made the statement at a recent meeting with the governors where some of them demanded Oshiomhole’s sack.
The newspaper noted that at the meeting, five governors, who accused the APC national chairman of mismanaging the party due to selfish interest, pushed for his immediate removal.
But the pro-Oshiomhole governors were reported to have kicked against the idea leading to a heated exchange between both groups.
Daily Trust stated that Buhari who did not take any side made his position known during a sharp exchange between one governor from the northwest who opposed Oshiomhole and another from the northeast who supported him.
The president was said to have disclosed that he initially supported Oshiomhole to become the national chairman because he had a good record both as president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and as Edo state governor.

Then Buhari reportedly told party members that they should follow the normal procedure if they want Oshiomhole replaced as APC national chairman.
Meanwhile, some states chairmen of the APC have accused some governors of being behind calls for the removal of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the party.
The chairmen told President Buhari that the governor was doing this because of 2023 presidential ambitions.
This was disclosed in a prepared speech signed by the chairman of APC state chairmen, Hon Ali Bukar, and obtained by Daily Trust after a closed-door meeting with the president.
