Protesters for and against Sowore storm Abuja court

Two sets of protesters on Friday, December 5 besieged the Federal High Court in Abuja to protest for and against the release of the convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore by the Department of State Service, DSS.

The protesters, carrying placards with various inscriptions arrived court chanting songs for and against Mr Sowore.

While one group was canvassing for Sowore's release, the other group, allegedly sponsored by the DSS was calling for his prosecution.

TVC News reports that anti-riot policemen present in the court, however, asked the two groups to move away from the court premises.

After spending 124 days in detention, Sowore regained his freedom on Thursday, December 5, after the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his release for the third time.

However, on Friday, December 6, Sowore was rearrested by the operatives of DSS at the Federal High Court premises immediately after the end of the proceedings.
