A state high court sitting in Edo state has extended the order directing that Anselm Ojezua be recognised as chairman of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Vanguard reports that the extension was granted by Justice O. Oviawe, on Thursday, December 5, ordering that the status quo as at November 10, with regards to the chairmanship of the APC, be maintained.
Legit.ng gathered that the judge said the extension would last till December 11, when all applications on the case is slated for hearing.
The judge had in a November 22, ruling directed that the status quo be maintained pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice, praying for an order of interlocutory injunction.
The suit was filed by Anselm Ojezua, Kenneth Asekhema and Aisosa Amadasun while the defendants in the suit included Col. David Imuse (rtd), Lawrence Okah and Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
In the suit, Ojezua sought for interim injunction directing that the status quo as at November 10 with regards to the chairmanship of the APC of Edo state chapter, be maintained by the parties.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the position of Ojezua as the chairman of the APC in Edo was affirmed by a high court in the state.
It was reported that the court, presided over by Justice O. Oviawe, granted an order of interim injunction which stated that Ojezua should keep his office.
The suit was filed by Ojezua, Kenneth Asekhema and Aisosa Amadasun and the defendants therein are Colonel David Imuse (rtd) Lawrence Okah and Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
