- EFCC has arrested an Islamic cleric over his attempt to defraud an unsuspecting man
- The cleric, Albulrashid Imam, had fraudulently obtained more than N3 million from his victim who was seeking Quranic knowledge
- Imam told the man that he would instil the knowledge in his head with the help of some spiritual beings
An Islamic cleric identified Abdulrashid Imam has met with his water-loo, after he was picked up by officials of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna zonal office, on the basis of his fraudulent activities.
According to a report shared on the official Instagram page of the anti-graft agency, Imam had defrauded another individual identified as Mohammed Dewu, to the tune of over N3m and $24,000, after leading his victim to believe that he has the ability to impact Quranic knowledge on him, with the help of some spiritual beings.

Dewu alleged that Imam also made him purchase two bottled perfumes at the sum of N70k each, one special perfume at N160k, another bottle of N550k perfume to treat his mother’s sickness, a set of 60 perfumes to activate the Quranic verses that will be implanted into his brain with the assistance of the spiritual beings, at N1.68m, among many other items.
