Jose Mourinho: Spurs boss hints at January move for Gareth Bale

- Jose Mourinho has hinted on possible Gareth Bale's switch to Tottenham

- The winger has fallen out with Real Madrid hierarchy after his China move was frustrated

- After Spurs' defeat to Manchester United, the Portuguese manager hinted Tottenham may go for the winger

Jose Mourinho has fuelled the speculation surrounding Gareth Bale's return to Tottenham as discussions continue to grow about the winger's future with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Welshman moved to Spain for a world record fee worth £85million in 2013 and had a brief stint with Mourinho before the Portuguese was shown the exit door.

Since falling out with Real Madrid hierarchy after his massive money move to China was frustrated in the last summer, the winger has been making moves aimed at forcing his way out of Santiago Bernabeu.

And with the want-away star linked with a move back to Premier League, Mourinho is said to have been lobbying for the hands of the winger.

Asked if Bale switching to Tottenham is possible in the January transfer, the Portuguese gave a weird answer suggesting Spurs' move for Bale is fast more than expectation.

"Come on, I don’t need to answer," the 56-year-old said after his side 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Bale recently fuelled his return to Premier League with an astonishing eulogy on Jose Mourinho, describing the Portuguese as a serial winner.

"Having Mourinho there is an amazing statement from the club, I think he's a serial winner," Bale said.

"Tottenham want to win trophies and I don't think there's a better partnership than Mourinho and Tottenham together to try and win some trophies.''
