Wilfred Ndidi believes Leicester City are strong contenders for the Premier League title following their electrifying start in the new campaign.

The Foxes won their seventh straight league game after beating Watford 2-0 at the King Power Stadium as they remain eight points behind leaders Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers side has won 11 matches from 15 so far, three points ahead of Man City and six points ahead of Chelsea in the Premier League top four.

Ndidi was asked about Leicester's ambition for the 2019-20 campaign and he said: "The sky is just the starting point at this moment because there are spaces beyond the sky.

"We are actually working towards something and I hope everything goes as well as it's going and we just keep working which is very important.

"It's just something that will just keep going and going. We're still growing because there are so many things to learn you know.

"So if we have a manager who has the exposure and the information to give us, we just work towards it," he told the Leicester City's website.

The Super Eagles midfielder has played all but one league game for the Foxes this season in a side that boasts of attacking flair including James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen have been nominated for the best young African Player of the Year.

The Nigerian internationals have been in red hot form this season form club and country but will have to compete with three other African youngsters to get the prize.
