Josh Maja was in blistering form for Bordeaux as his side cruised to a comfortable 6-0 victory over Nimes on Tuesday night, December 3.

The Nigerian international showed no sign of mercy as he put danger on the neck of the Crocodiles with first perfect career hat-trick for club and country at Matmut Atlantique.

Nimes came into the game with the hope of ending their eight-game winless run in the league only for Maja to dash their hope in the 24th minute.

Maja scored two goals in the first half with another strike in the 37th minute strike before netting his third goal in the 53rd minute.

Bordeaux continued to threaten Nimes' porous defence and midfield with violent attack and another defence error would lead to goal as Nicolas de Preville's strike made it four for the host.

Otavio Henrique santos added to the woe of their visitors with a classic finishing in the 76th minute.

The Brazilian star also found back of the net again in the 87th minute as Bordeaux cruised to a resounding victory at home.

Maja, unpopular figure in Nigeria, has one cap for Super Eagles against Ukraine before being subbed for Toma Basic.

With his hat-trick, he became the fourth best goal scorer aged 20 or under in the top five European ties this season with five goals, trailing behind Victor Osimhen, Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappé.
