Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, was on Tuesday, December 3, declared wanted by the police in Anambra state.
The declaration came over a clash on Monday, December 2, in Oraifite. The clash reportedly left at least four persons dead.
The declaration was made by the state's police commissioner, John Abang, in a video message.
In the message on Tuesday, December 3, the commissioner asked Nigerians with information about the whereabouts of the lawyer to disclose it to the nearest police station. This is over the alleged brutal murder of two police officers in Oraifite.
Recall that Legit.ng had previously reported that the police command confirmed the death of two police officers.
The officers were allegedly attacked and shot by suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Oraifite in Ekwusigo council area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement in Awka on Monday, December 2.
Part of the statement read: "On the 2/12/2019 at about 11:30 am, there was a formal complaint against one Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a member of the proscribed IPOB in Oraifite on alleged case of abduction, assault occasioning harm and malicious damage to property.
“Following the report, police patrol teams, led by the Area Commander, Oraifite, Oliver Abbey, mobilised and rushed to the scene in order to arrest the suspect, who declined police invitation."
