Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has transmitted a new bill for the creation of four new emirates in Kano state.
According to the commissioner of information in the state, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje is insisting on the creation of the emirates because some of them exited before the Kano emirate.
Premium Times reports that according to a statement by Garba, the emirate council bill forwarded by the governor has been approved by the state's executive council.
The council has also forwarded its endorsement for the creation of the emirates (Rano, Gaya, Bichi and Karaye) to the state House of Assembly for final approval.

Garba said that the creation of the bill will bring about socio-economic development to the people and security in the state.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that despite a recent court order, the Kano executive council had approved the creation of four emirates as passed recently by the state's House of Assembly.
The court order had stopped the creation of Rano, Gaya, Bichi and Karaye as recently carried out by the governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The approval by the council, which has the governor, commissioners and top officials of the government, was confirmed in a press statement released by Malam Muhammad Garba in charge of the information ministry.
According to Garba, some of the created emirates had been in existence far before Kano. The statement added that there had been previous futile efforts to revive them.
