Alaves vs Real Madrid ended 2-1 in favour of Zinedine Zidane's side as they temporarily go top of the La Liga table.

All the goals were scored in the second half as Los Blancos' own faithful son Sergio Ramos got Real's first while Lucas Perez equalized from a spot-kick before Dani Carvajal got the match-winner.

Gareth Bale's deflected header hit the post earlier in the match before Isco squandered a golden opportunity as his shot went over the bar.

The first half ended with both sides even but Los Blancos knew they had to turn on the heat to take the lead.

And in the 52nd minute Ramos headed home a free kick from Toni Kroos to make it 1-0 away from home.

But the Madrid captain was at the end of Alaves' equalizer as he fouled Joselu in the box and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty.

Perez tucked away the resulting spot-kick to put his side back on level terms in the 65th minute.

Real immediately restored the lead four minutes later as Carvajal scrambled the ball home after initial effort from Isco hit the bar. 2-1 to Madrid.

And that was how it stood as Zidane's men took all three points and go top of the La Liga with Barcelona having a game at hand.
