Kogi election: Dino Melaye accuses APC, governors of holding secret meeting in Lagos

Kogi election: Dino Melaye accuses APC, governors of holding secret meeting in Lagos

- Dino Melaye, a recently sacked senator, is alleging that the APC has taken its desperation to Lagos over the senatorial rerun which is to hold in Kogi

- Melaye claims that at the meeting were two governors and representatives of Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna and Yahaya Bello of Kogi

- The former senator further said two judges and the APC chairman were at the meeting

Dino Melaye, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming senatorial re-run in Kogi state, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of holding a secret meeting in Lagos because of him.

Melaye said this very late on Thursday, November 28, through a tweet.

He is battling with Smart Adeyemi, candidate of the APC, to clinch the seat which he lost recently through a court ruling.

According to him, those at the meeting included two governors, whose name he did not mention.

He also said the APC chairman, two judges, a woman, representatives of Kaduna and Kogi governors, Nasir El-Rufai and Yahaya Bello, respectively, were at the meeting.

While mocking them, he called on God to ensure that their ‘counsel shall not stand’.

He said: “I have all the details. The Lord will laugh at you all in His sour displeasure…I ask again…why do the heathen rage?”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Melaye tendered a fresh petition against the conduct of the supplementary poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently.

The former lawmaker is not comfortable with the plans by the electoral umpire to conduct the rerun on Saturday, November 30.

He, thus, wanted the exercise to be cancelled over what he described as intimidation of voters and violence in the first conduct of the poll.
