Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has been named the player of the month of October in the South African League following his superb performances this season.
Daniel Akpeyi has been superb for his club Kaizer Chiefs this season in South Africa as the side are currently topping the table with 31 points after 12 games.
Mamelodi Sundowns who are the reigning champions are occupying second position on the log with 21 points.
The South African Premier League body took to their official social media account on Thursday, November 28, to announce Daniel Akpeyi as the winner of the award.
"It is a big surprise to me but it also shows the importance of putting effort forward in whatever you do. I give credit to the technical team who have been patient with me.
"I'm settling in, I'm taking each game as it comes. Khune is a good keeper, I'm just grateful for the opportunity from the coach.
''It's a healthy competition in that department (keeper). I'm just happy to be improving all the time,'' Daniel Akpeyi explained.
Daniel Akpeyi was the Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in South Africa where Nigeria won bronze medal in Egypt.
