Uti Nwachukwu speaks on not paying tithe in church

Tithing has been a huge topic of debate on social media for different reasons. While some people maintain that tithing is very important, some others believe that it is an avenue in which modern-day church pastors enrich themselves by milking the congregation.

Just recently, media personality, Uti Nwachukwu admitted that he had abandoned payment of tithe and didn't notice anything negative in his life. It all came after Twitter user, JajaPhD shared how he spent his 2018 crossover night.

In a post, JajaPhD stated that he spent the December 31st of 2018 not going to church that he instead attended a concert and even went home with a 'souvenir'. In response, Nwachukwu also shared details of the 'required Christian' habit that he has since abandoned.

According to Nwachukwu, he has abandoned paying tithe for a long time and didn't notice anything negative happening to his finances as often preached. He stated that instead, he has been saving more and enjoying his money.

Interestingly, Nwachukwu once gave suggestions on what Christians can do with their tithes.

The media personality suggested that first fruits can be paid to parents instead of pastors.

Meanwhile, a social media user identified as @nosa_iyare, shared his dilemma with members of the internet community and sought for clarification as it concerns fasting.

The individual in a post shared on micro blogging platform, Twitter, explained that when he was resident in Nigeria, a popular church identified as the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), mandated congregants to stay off eating and drinking when they are fasting.

His confusion, however, set in when he traveled to the United States of America (USA), and a branch of the same church, discouraged members of the church from going completely dry when they fast.
