The United States White House was on Tuesday, November 26, briefly put on lockdown in the bid to beef up security after a plane entered the Washington DC area.

This led to an emergency conference attended by national security officials to monitor and address the situation.

However, CNN reports that the lockdown has been lifted as the situation, according to police sources, is not a hostile one.

Meanwhile, in separate news, Legit.ng reported earlier that the US had witnessed a new entrant into the country’s 2020 presidential race in a turn of events that hops to shape its political space.

His name is Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire owner of a world-leading business and market news platform.

Bloomberg, 77, a former mayor of New York, joins 18 others ahead of the primary election of the Democrats after he launched an advert on the morning of Sunday, November 24, to make his ambition known.

According to Daily Mail, the ad said Bloomberg aimed to restore faith in the dream that defines the US, “where the wealthy will pay more in taxes and the middle class get their fair share.”

The report said the campaign advert cost more than $34 million and is expected to continue to run till December 3, 2019.

The advert piece called Bloomberg a job creator, leader and problem solver with an emphasis on his ability to bring jobs to thousands of Americans.
