- Kylian Mbappe believes he does not deserve Ballon d'Or award
- The 20-year-old star says his club Paris-Saint-Germain did not have a good outing last season
- The Frenchman, however, said he is not in rush for bigger glory because he still has age on his side
French sensation, Kylian Mbappe, believes he does not deserve to win Ballon d'Or award because his club PSG did not have a fabulous outing last season.
The World-Cup winning star was named in the 30-man list for the prestigious award slated for December.
The wonderkid will face still competition from Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool's centre-back Virgil van Dijk for this year's edition.
Ahead of the gala night, Mbappe ruled out the possibility of the clinching the prestigious individual honour.
The 20-year-old was convinced his club did not put in a champion show in Europe to deserve the prize ahead of the three leading contenders despite winning win domestic double.
"This year? You have to be realistic, I do not deserve it. There are players who have done more," Kylian Mbappe said.
"With PSG, we did not win all the national titles, in the Champions League, we disappointed.
"Sure, at the individual level, I did win a lot of trophies, but football is not played alone and must accept it.
The Real-Madrid-linked striker also declared that he is not in rush for bigger glory because he has the age in his favour.
"I still have time to win it, I'm in no hurry, it's not something that haunts me," the 20-year-old said.
Mbappe's PSG crashed out of the Champions League at the Round 16 with an embarrassing defeat to struggling English giants Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Kylian Mbappe has thrown his weight behind Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi for the prestigious Ballon d'Or 2019 award.
