New Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he left Christian Eriksen on the bench in his side's 3-2 win over West Ham over his uncertain future.

The 27-year-old midfielder will be out of contract with the north Londoners at the end of this season having failed to sign a new deal at the club.

Eriksen has scored two goals and one assist in 15 matches across all competitions so far this campaign.

The Portuguese tactician said he had a meeting with the Denmark international ahead of Spurs' Champions League clash with Olympiacos on Tuesday night.

"I'm not going to tell you what we said. Just me and him – and Amazon,' Mourinho said on Monday. He's committed, loves the club and is one of us.'

Eriksen joined Spurs in 2013 from Ajax Amsterdam in a deal valued around €13.50m and has scored 68 goals and 87 assists for the club.

He won one Premier League goal of the month during the 2017-18 season but could not help them win any title in the process.
