Jose Mourinho is reportedly plotting a January move for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

It is understood that Tottenham are looking to sign two centre-backs to help bolster their team in the next two transfer windows.

According to Football Insider, the Netherlands international would become an ideal replacement for Jan Vertonghen whose contract expires next summer.

The north London side had been on the trail of the 24-year-old in the past and reports claim they will be step up their bid to sign him following Mourinho's arrival.

Ake played under Mourinho in Chelsea but he was demoted to the reserves and was subsequently loaned out to Reading and Watford.
