- Samuel Chukwueze scored his third La Liga goal in their 3-1 defeat to Celta Vigo
- The Nigerian international powered home a superb strike in the second half
- Chukwueze's goal was however not enough to rescue his side from outright defeat after regulation period
Nigerian star Samuel Chukwueze took his Spanish League goals tally to three after 13 matches in Villarreal's 3-1 defeat to Celta Vigo at the El Madrigal.
The Super Eagles winger fired home from close range after running into space to connect with Xavier Quintilla's pass from the left flank.
Although, his goal was not enough to rescue a point for the Yellow Submarines after two goals from Iago Aspas and one from Pione Sisto sealed the win for the visitors.

The 20-year-old featured for the home team all through the game while Karl Toko Ekambi was substituted in the 77th minute.
Chukwueze's progress in Spain has earned him so much recognition that he was among the nominees for the 2019 African young player of the year.
Also nominated in the category is his strike partner in the national team Victor Osimhen, who has been superb for his French League side Lille.
Both players were on target when Nigeria defeated Lesotho in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Villarreal are 12th on the log with 18th on the table after 14 matches so far this season - meaning they must turn their fortunes around to avoid relegation next May.
Chukwueze made his debut for the Super Eagles in November 2018 and has gone ahead to make 13 appearances with two goals credited to his name.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has been tipped by his mentor Victor Apugo to become future Ballon d'Or candidate because of his impressive performances so far.
This comes after the Villarreal star was shortlisted among the best performing Under 21 players to fight for the Kopa Trophee.
Chukwueze is the only African player shortlisted for the award where he will face serious competition from Vinicius Jr, Matthijs DeLigt, Jordan Sancho, Joao Felix and others.
