Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr has been nominated among the 10 coaches who will fight for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) 2019 best coach of the year award.
Gernot Rohr led the Super Eagles to win bronze medal at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where Nigeria defeated Tunisia in the third place match.
Nigeria had the target of reaching the final of the 2019 Nations Cup having missed the last two editions, but they were defeated in the semifinal by Algeria.
Algeria went on to win the championship beating Senegal in the final of the 2019 Nations Cup.
Also, Gernot Rohr has started the qualification race for the 2021 Nations Cup on a good note with the Super Eagles beating Benin and Lesotho in their first two games.
Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr will face serious competition from nine other coaches for the 2019 CAF award who is Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi.
Djamel Belmadi has even been tipped to win this award by fans following his impressive show in Egypt helping Algeria to win the 2019 AFCON.
Aliou Cisse who took Senegal to the final of the 2019 Nations Cup is also among the coaches who will fight for this award.
Meanwhile, former Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby is also among the coaches who will fight for 2019 Women's coach of the year.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Gernot Rohr who is the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria rubbished the reports linking him from his present position with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
After steering the Super Eagles to win bronze medal at the AFCON 2019, there have been speculation that Gernot Rohr could be on his way out of the Super Eagles.
