The Nigerian newspaper headlines for Thursday, November 21, leads with the reprimand issued to anti-corruption agencies in the country over failing to audit their accounts in the last 20 years, among other top stories.

Nigerian newspaper The Guardian reports that the Senate accused anti-corruption agencies in the country of failing to audit their accounts in the last 20 years.

It warned all agencies of government including those under the presidency that henceforth all funds allocated must be accounted for.

The Senate Committee on Public Accounts, which issued the reprimand, gave 25 Ministries, Departments and Agencies a seven-day ultimatum to submit their income and expenditure operations from 2017 till date. The defaulting MDAs are to make the submissions on or before November 27, 2019.

Nigerian newspaper The Nation reports that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has advised the National Assembly to hold a public hearing on the hate speech bill before it to ensure that views of Nigerians were captured in the passage of the bill.

NGF vice-chairman and governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal, gave the advice while fielding questions from newsmen at the end of the forum meeting held on Wednesday night in Abuja.
