Tottenham forward Dele Alli has praised Argentine football manager Mauricio Pochettino less than 24 hours after he was sacked by the Premier League side.

Spurs chiefs took to social media on Tuesday night, November 19, to announce the departure of Mauricio Pochettino after almost six years at the club.

The club's chiefs were not happy with Tottenham's current 14th position on the Premier League standings which masterminded their decision to fire Pochettino.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been appointed as the new coach of Spurs.

And Dele Alli who got his debut as a teenager under Mauricio Pochettino has praised his former manager for the role he played in his career.

“I can’t thank this man enough. He’s taught me so much and I’m so grateful for everything he’s done for me.

“Good luck and hope to see you again my friend,'' the England international explained.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho will be in charge of Tottenham's next game at West Ham United which will be his first Premier League as Spurs manager.

Jose Mourinho has been out of coaching job since he was fired at Manchester United last year and has been doing punditry work since then.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was appointed new Tottenham Hotspur manager until the summer of 2023.

The Portuguese tactician takes over from Argentine handler Mauricio Pochettino, who was shown the exit doors earlier this week.
