- Olivier Giroud could be leaving Chelsea when the January transfer window opens
- Inter Milan are interested in signing him as back up for Lukaku
- Giroud contributed to the Blues Europa League triumph last season under Sarri
Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly concluded plans to land Chelsea outcast Olivier Giroud when the January transfer window opens.
The Frenchman is obviously not in the plan of Blues manager Frank Lampard having made just five appearances so far in all competitions for the club.
Despite playing a key role in their Europa League triumph last season under Maurizio Sarri, the 2018 World Cup winner has been relegated to the bench most part of their games.
Daily Mail however reports that the Italian League giants are hoping they can secure the services of the 33-year-old as back up for Romelu Lukaku.
The 26-year-old joined Inter this summer from Manchester United and has scored nine goals in eleven league appearances.
Major League Soccer clubs have also been linked with a move for the former Arsenal striker as he continues to languish on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Antonio Conte was not pleased with the depth of his squad, adding that his current players lack the character and know-how to win trophies after their 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund this week.
"We have too limited a squad to face both Serie A and Champions League football this season. I mean limited in terms of numbers and quality,' Conte told Sport Mediaset.

Giroud's current deal with Chelsea expires at the end of the ongoing season having joined them from Arsenal in the winter of 2018.
He has scored 19 goals and 13 assists in 69 appearances for the Blues in all competitions during his reign so far.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Olivier Giroud has admitted he could leave Chelsea if he does not get enough game time from Frank Lampard.
The France international has only made five appearances under the current manager this season and the striker is getting frustrated sitting on the bench.
Giroud has been made second choice behind the Blues' new scoring sensation Tammy Abraham who has nine goals already in all competition this season.
