Nigerian physiotherapist Dr Nnenna Chigbo has made giant strides in her field. In fact, her good works have been recognised so much that she got an international award named after her.
The honour was bestowed on her during a World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT) conference in Geneva, Switzerland. The award titled "Nnenna Chigbo Educational Leadership Award" was given in recognition of Dr Chigbo's contribution in excellent hard work in advancement of global education in HIV/AIDS, Oncology, Hospice and Palliative care (HOPE) rehabilitation.
Dr Chigbo who is the vice president of Nigerian Society of physiotherapy led the Nigerian team to the conference which is organised by WCPT, global body governing the training and practice of physiotherapy.
Interestingly, Chigbo is a graduate of medical rehabilitation majoring in physiotherapy, from the department of medical rehabilitation, University of Nigeria. Currently, she is a chief physiotherapist at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu.
She also holds a bachelor degree in medical rehabilitation, Master degree in public health, an Emory fellow from Emory University, United States of America. The dedicated and hardworking doctor has publications in peer reviewed journal on the topic of HIV/AIDS and Oncology.
Meanwhile, another Nigerian has broken the glass ceiling in the field of technology. Moyinoluwa Adeyemi is now a Google expert for android.
According to a tweet by her on Wednesday, November 6, she said that she is the first Nigerian that would be getting the position.
The new Google android expert said she is very excited about the new job and she will remain committed to learning and sharing her knowledge on the larger platform.
