Governor Makinde says he is under pressure to probe Ajimobi’s wife

- Governor Seyi Makinde says he will not probe the wife of former Oyo state governor, Florence Ajimobi, for infractions that occurred her tenure as chairperson of SACA board

- Makinde explains that a review of the modes of operation of the last board under Mrs Ajimobi revealed that the Oyo gets medical supplies that are on the verge of expiration

The Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, has disclosed that concerned stakeholders of the board of the Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (SACA) have been pressuring him to probe Florence Ajimobi, the wife of the immediate governor.

Makinde who made the disclosure when he inaugurated the board of the SACA, said the past SACA board under the chairperson of Mrs Ajimobi committed some infractions in its mode of operation, The Nation reports

Makinde urged the new board which is to be chaired by his wife, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, to desist from the practice of hoarding medications but work for the good of the people of the state.

The governor noted that although there had been some progress with regards to anti-retroviral medication, abstinence from sex remained the best way to control the spread of AIDS.

In another report, Governor Seyi Makinde has nominated a 27-year-old graduate of engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Seun Fakorede, as one of the three commissioner nominees for screening.

Tribune reported that the governor sent the name of the OAU graduate alongside two other names, Alhaja Faosat Joke Sunni from Iseyin local government and Professor Raphael Afonja from Ogbomoso North local government, to the state House of Assembly for screening.

The 27-year old hails from Idere area of Ibarapa Central local government and bagged a Civil Engineering degree from OAU in 2016.

He currently runs an entrepreneur and consultancy outfit, and a non-profit outfit, Home Advantage Africa (HAA).
