Osahon Enabulele emerges 1st Nigerian to head Commonwealth physicians in its 57-year history

A Nigerian, Dr Osahon Enabulee, has broken another ground on the international scene as he became the president of the Commonwealth Medical Association, a feat that no Nigerian has achieved in the organisation’s 57-year history.

Osahon, who was the former president of the Nigerian Medical Association was inaugurated on Tuesday, November 5, at the association’s conference, Daily Trust reports.

It should be noted that he would be succeeding Vajira Dissayanake, a doctor from Sri Lanka. The minister of health, Osagie Ehanire, has described the latest development as a proud one for the country.

Another thing worthy of note is the association covers all medical organisation in every commonwealth nation.

It would also serve as great influences on how health ministers in those countries meet and the decisions are taken.

Osahon also said that having a Nigerian at that helm of affairs was a show of trust that has been invested into the country.

“I affirm that this huge trust invested in us will under no circumstance be betrayed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that news of Nigerians making great breakthroughs in the field of science has lately been going viral.

Another Nigerian scientist, Emmanuel Terhemen Atume, discovered a formula that determines boiling point.

His method called Boiliing Point Determination Using Formular Method was in 2013 published in a US journal called International Institute of Science Technology and Education (IISTE).

It should be noted that he graduated from the University of Jos in 2012 where he studied industrial chemistry before he became a renowned researcher that has several published papers in international journals to his credit.
