- Akinlabi had recently appealed the judgement of the election petition tribunal that upheld the victory of Abiodun as Ogun state governor
- According to the judge presiding over the appeal, the day of judgement would be communicated to the counsel
Adekunle Akinlade of Allied People’s Movement (APM) will soon know the fate of the appeal he filed against the victory of Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 9 governorship election in Ogun state as the Court of Appeal in Ibadan reserved judgement.
Recall that Akinlabi appealed the September 4 judgement of the election petition tribunal that upheld the victory of Abiodun as the governor of Ogun state.
According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the five-member panel of the appeal court which was presided over by Abubakar Yahaya reserved judgement after listening to the argument of all the parties.
According to Yahaya, day of judgement would be communicated to the counsel.
Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng had reported that Akinlade, on Saturday, September 14, suffered a great defeat as the Ogun state governorship election petition tribunal led by Justice Yusuf Halilu, stuck out the petition he filed to challenge Abiodun's qualification.
The tribunal struck out Akinlade's application seeking disqualification of Abiodun on grounds of submitting false academic qualification.
