- Iwobi had a below average performance against Spurs which saw Andre Gomes suffer terrible injury
Alex Iwobi committed a blunder that led to Tottenham taking the lead against Everton and England legend Alan Shearer has blamed the Super Eagles midfielder.
Iwobi took his eye off Fabian Delph who requested for the ball as the Nigerian gave away possession and Dele Alli punished the Toffees and put Spurs ahead in the 63rd minute.
And in the post-match analysis Shearer was blunt about Iwobi's costly mistake that put his side under pressure after going behind against Mauricio Pochettino's side.

"It was a silly mistake from Iwobi," BBC Match of the Day pundit Shearer said in their post-match analysis, alongside Ian Wright.
"He should have taken the option of a simple pass to Gomes, but he picked a wrong one, straight into the feet of Son. And then that brilliant finish from Alli."
According to Whoscored, Iwobi who had a below average performance was rated second to the last among his teammates who started the game.
Substitute Cenk Tosun grabbed the equalizer in stoppage time but Everton lost midfielder Andre Gomes to a terrible injury.
