- Ahmed Gulak has alleged that Rochas Okorocha offered him $2 million bribe
- According to Gulak, this was done to buy certificate of return for his anointed aspirant, Uche Nwosu
- But Okorocha said Gulak ought to be in jail for what he did in Imo
Former Imo state governor is in the news again as he has been accused of bribery. The accusation came from Ahmed Gulak, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC's) primary election committee during 2019 Imo state governorship primaries.
Gulak alleged that Rochas Okorocha offered him $2 million bribe to deliver certificate of return to his anointed aspirant, Uche Nwosu, The Sun reports.
According to him, he rejected the bribe because of his integrity. He went further to state that the money was free funds that he could have collected without anybody dragging him to court.
However, in his reaction, Okorocha said Gulak ought to be in jail for what he did in Imo. The former governor described Gulak as an enemy of democracy.
Okorocha disclosed this through his media aide, Sam Onwuamedo. He added that Gulak was used to cause confusion in Imo state by those who were bent on destroying APC in the state.
Going further, Okorocha who dismissed Gulak's allegation insisted that the former presidential aide is only looking for ways to redeem his battered image.
Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng had reported that Okorocha warned that the APC might lose power in 2023 if the internal crisis within the ranks of the party's leadership continued.
Okorocha, who gave the warning on Saturday, November 2, in Kano state, cited the feud between the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomole and Governor Godwin Obasaki of Edo state as one of the internal crisis in the party.
