Daniel Akpeyi was the hero again for Kaizer Chiefs after he saved two penalties to send his team to the semi-final of the 2019 Telkom Knockout ahead of Orlando Pirates.
Kaizer Chiefs defeated Orlando Pirates 4-2 on penalties in the Soweto derby and quarterfinal match played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, November 2.
Chiefs picked up the win after a 2-2 draw in 120 minutes of football with Akpeyi playing a crucial role.
The penalty heroics has now helped Akpeyi finally warm his way into the hearts of the Chiefs fans.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Akpeyi earned a recall to the Super Eagles squad for AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho later this month.
This was after he was blamed by coach Gernot Rohr for Mahrez's winner in the semifinal of the AFCON 2019 in Egypt.
