Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, has revealed that his Camp Nou teammates were willing to adjust their contract to enable the Catalans re-sign embattled PSG star Neymar Jr during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old attacker forced his way out of Camp Nou to Paris in search of individual glory in a big money deal that cements him as the most expensive player in history.

However, in less than two years with the French giants, Neymar has courted controversies to himself amid spats with teammates and fans following a collapsed deal that could have moved him back to Barcelona.

The Brazilian attacker, according to BBC Sport, is still optimistic about Barca move, and his former teammate Gerard Pique has disclosed that there was a plan to reunite the embattled star with his former friends in Spain.

"We were ready to adjust our contracts," Pique told local Spanish radio station.

"We weren't going to contribute money, but we were going to make things easier by allowing some payments to be made in the second or third year instead of the first," the Spaniard added.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Neymar Jr, has been slammed by former Barcelona defender and Brazilian teammate Dani Alves over his ''sensibility of child" amid off-field problems.

The 27-year-old has found himself in the discomforting whirlpool of controversies over his career with the forward falling down the pecking order with hierarchy of the French champions over frustrated switch back to Barcelona.
