Ambode congratulates Buhari on Supreme Court victory

Akinwunmi Ambode, former Lagos state governor, has joined the list of political stakeholders who have sent congratulatory messages to President Muhammadu Buhari over his electoral victory at the Supreme Court.

The ex-governor, in a statement by his media aide, Habib Aruna, said the apex court's ruling validated Nigerians' decision to re-elect Buhari in the February 2019 poll.

Ambode also extended his congratulatory message to all members of the ruling All Progressives Congress across the country.

He said Buhari's re-election proved that Nigerians are happy with his achievements during his first term and want him to continue for another four years.

"The court verdict will surely propel the President to consolidate on his first term achievements in all the sectors for the betterment of the country," he said.

The former Lagos governor called on Nigerians to continue to support Buhari as he seeks to take the country to enviable heights.

Recall that the Supreme Court on Wednesday, October 30, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against Buhari's re-election.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Lagos state high court ordered the state house of assembly to maintain status quo in the ongoing probe of Ambode.

The presiding judge, Justice Yetunde Adesanya, gave the order while ruling on an ex parte motion filed by the Lagos ex-governor through his counsel, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN).
