The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed grave shock at the ruling of the Supreme Court that threw out the petition of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The party in a press release signed by its national publicity secretary said that the outcome of the court was the reverse of what Nigerians were expecting would happen.

The opposition said that the outcome of the ruling even shocked some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) because it had a solid case to get back the mandate.

"Indeed, what we witnessed today was not what majority of Nigerians, who participated and observed the Presidential election expected; and this includes even members of the APC,” it said.

The party said the specialness of its case will be appreciated by unborn generations and Nigerians as it appreciated millions of the country’s citizens for voting for Atiku.

In conclusion, the party said it is still waiting on the Supreme Court to give the reasons behind their judgement.
