Gunmen kidnap appeal court judge in Edo state

- Kidnappers have abducted Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme

- The judge is from the Federal Court of Appeal, Benin Division

- However, the police have vowed to rescue the judge alive

Reports reaching Legit.ng has it that Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme of the Federal Court of Appeal, Benin Division has been abducted by men who are suspected to be kidnappers.

According to Premium Times, the incident which occurred along Benin-Agbor highway also claimed the life of a police officer.

Another report noted that the criminals trailed the judge from Ramat Park end of the Benin-Agbor road and intercepted the vehicle with gunfire around Christ Chosen Church of God International.

According to the police, the vehicle driver was also injured by the criminals.

Meanwhile, the police in Edo state have however vowed to rescue the judge alive.

Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng reported that some unknown gunmen abducted Justice Dogo on his trip from Abuja to Akure.

The kidnappers afterwards contacted the relatives of the judge and demanded the sum of N50 million for his release.

Legit.ng had also reported that Dogo, regained his freedom after the kidnap. Dogo regained his freedom in the early hours of Saturday, October 26.

The judge and his driver wee also debriefed by the police and reunited with their families.
