Meet 15-year-old girl who understands sign language better than physically challenged people

For showing rare intelligence and competence, a 15-year-old Oladepo Blessing of Custom area of Iseyin in Iseyin local government area of Oyo state has been described as a competent student who has firm and perfect mastery of the 'sign language' far above some physically challenged persons in the the area.

Legit.ng's regional reporter in Oyo state, Khalid Imran, reports that Blessing, who is an SSS 2 student of Art and Humanity department at School for the special needs, located at KM 9, Iseyin-Abeokuta road in Iseyin has displayed her uniqueness and prowess in perfect mastery and understanding of the 'sign language' among her peers who have disabilities of various degrees.

Speaking on Blessing's talent and uniqueness in the school premises on Tuesday, October 22, the proprietor of the school, Fasasi Raheem Ajibola, said though she was an able girl with no single disability, she finds herself in an academic environment purposely meant for the People Living With Disability (PLWD).

He said she has distinguished herself to have perfect mastery, understanding and firm practical demonstration of the 'sign language' above all PLWD in the school.

Ajibola said Blessing could speak English, Yoruba languages very well and could as well interpret better in sign language for the assimilation of the rest students who are disables.

He said having stood out among the peers, the school management had made her the interpreter who engages in sign language for simple practical and gesticulated demonstration of the pieces of information that are being passed across to them.

The proprietor also showcased Amuda Abass who is audibly impaired but skillful and talented in shoe making, electrical and electronics repair without going through the tutelage under any master.

The 16-year-old boy was said to have originated from Pako compound in Ibarapa central local government area of Oyo state.

He was described as an average student who could read and write with total communication.

Abass was described as an electrician who works error free on any electrical appliance and any other work relating with electrical and electronics.
