Nigerians have started reacting to the Supreme Court's judgement on the appeal filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, against the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 presidential election.
Legit.ng reports that the apex court on Wednesday, October 30, dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.
Reacting to the judgement, the personal assistant to President Buhari on new media, Bashir Ahmad, described his boss' victory as a well-deserved one. He also congratulated Nigerians over the victory.
A social commentator, Kayode Ogundamisi, said that the Supreme Court judgement has put a stop to "Atiku is coming" slogan
In his reaction, Johannxs, a member of the presidential media team, described Atiku's lawyers as the ultimate winners of the whole saga.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the hearing of the appeal filed by Abubakar was on Wednesday, October 30, stood down by the Supreme Court.
It was reported that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Tanko Mohammed-led seven-man panel took the decision to allow Atiku's counsel, Levy Uzokwu (SAN), conclude on the procedure of the hearing.
