Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that his unending rivalry with Lionel Messi has helped both of them remain relevant at the peak of their game.

The 34-year-old insisted that the competition between them is healthy and as both stars have been nominated into the current Ballon d'Or shortlist.

Ronaldo and Messi share five Ballon d'Or awards each between them and are in contention to scoop the 2019 edition.
