Following petition against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the The All Progressives Congress (APC), the Lagos chapter of the party has faulted the move.
Reacting to the petition submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by by activists on behalf of concerned Nigerians, the party said there is no evidence against Tinubu.
Hon. Abiodun Salami, the APC spokesperson in Lagos, who spoke with Daily Trust, also challenged the petitioners to come up with proof that Tinubu had stolen any money.
Going further, he added that Tinubu is a private citizen who had been out of government for the past 12 years.
He also said that as a private citizen, Tinubu has the right to spend his money whichever way he wants it.
Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng had reported that former SSG Babachir Lawal tipped Tinubu as worthy successor of President Buhari.
Lawal said Tinubu possessed the key qualities required of a modern Nigerian president.
