Parents in Umuahia, the Abia state capital can now have their mind at rest as a yet-to-be-identified criminal who allegedly specialises in picking used diapers from dustbins to sell to ritualists was arrested.
According to The Nation, the 30-year-old criminal was apprehended along Ndume, Otuka bypass of the capital.
The news outlet, quoting residents, reported that this was not the first time the man has been spotted doing such a thing.
The man who reportedly refused to mention his name was claimed to have said that he supplies 12 pieces of used pampers to ritualists at the cost of N4000.
Meanwhile, the news outlet gathered that the mob would have descended on the suspect if not the arrival of Police team from Ehimiri police station, Umuahia.
The report has also been confirmed by the State Commissioner Police, CP Ene Okon.
He however said that he has directed the release of the suspect after questioning shows the man to be mentally unstable.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Police command in Anambra say they had rescued two children from suspected traffickers in the southeast state.
The state's police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, announced the rescue in a statement.
