- APC has restated its commitment to win Kogi election
- INEC is conducting governorship election in the state on November 16
- Adeyemi, the party's campaign DG for the election, described PDP's rally as a show of shame
The Kogi state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the rally held by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lokoja on Friday, October 25, was not only stage-managed but a clear show of shame.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the party also took a swipe on the candidate of the PDP, Musa Wada, describing his dispositions and utterances as watery.
Legit.ng gathered that the director general, APC campaign council in the state, Senator Smart Adeyemi, said in spite of the money spent to lure spectators to the rally, it was still poorly attended.
He said: “The PDP flag-off was totally a show of shame. It is disheartening that despite bringing in people from other parts of the country, they could barely record 5000 people; making the 25,000 sitting capacity stadium look empty.
“More disturbing is the position of the opposition candidate, Musa Wada who could not articulate his manifesto for the state.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Kogi rejected the request to hear a suit seeking the disqualification of Governor Yahaya Bello from participating in the poll scheduled for November 16.
It was reported that Justice Ijoema Ojukwu, struck out the suit filed by Natasha Akpoti, an aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) against Bello.
It was also gathered that the political structure of the late Abubakar Audu and Honourable James Faleke collapsed into that of Bello ahead of the incoming election.
The historic political event was held on Thursday, October 24, at the Government House, Lokoja as Audu/Faleke group is one of the formidable political groups in the state.
