Asamoah Gyan, Ghanaian star, has been ordered by the Accra High Court to pay his estranged wife Gifty Gyan a staggering amount of £18,450.74 as maintenance fee.
The divorce and matrimonial division of the court presided over by Justice Hafisata Amaleboba ruled that the money be paid for the upkeep of Gyan's three children in Gifty's custody.
Justice Amaleboba maintained that while the main ruling on the marriage application pends for a final determination, Asamoah Gyan must settle bills and other expenditure covering water, electricity, gas, feeding, and others in arrears commencing from July 2018 to September 2019, totalling £18,450.74.
The order also include “bills in respect of groceries £1, 500, fuel-£250, calls-£50, clothing-£200 in arrears commencing July 2019 to September 2019 totaling-£6,000.
The embattled Black Stars star was also mandated to pay the educational expenses of the three children, including those in arrears from July 2018 to September 2019 covering (pockets money, school trips, books etc), amounting to £2,800.
Asamoah Gyan, who is Ghana's most capped player and highest goal-scorer, has been embroiled in fresh setback that saw him lose his captaincy following a bust-up with Black Stars coach ahead of AFCON.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Asamoah Gyan bagged a chieftaincy title in the Gbi Traditional Area in Hohoe.
The star forward was enstooled with the title of Togbui Ngoryifia Dormenyotor after sponsoring the digging of a borehole at the St. Francis College of Education.
