Buhari's Russian trip to correct PDP's 16-years misrule - Princewill

- A chieftain of the All progressives Congress has commended the president for attending the Russia-Africa summit in Sochi, Russia

- Tonye Princewill said the president's trip to Russia will correct PDP's 16-years of misrule in Nigeria

- According to Princewill, the agreements reached with Russia on Nigeria's development will generate more jobs for the teeming Nigerian youth

Tonye Princewill, a former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state has said that Russia-Africa 2019 summit is a platform for Nigeria to make many leadership corrections.

Princewill said that President Muhammadu Buhari's visit to Sochi, Russia for the summit is an opportunity to right the wrongs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in its 16-years of leadership.

Condemning attacks by some critics on the frequent foreign trip by President Buhari, Princewill said as number diplomat for Nigeria, the president is expected to travel as numerous times as possible for the benefit of the country.

Princewill said: "He is the No. 1 diplomat of his country and no diplomat stays in one place and expects good relationships with other countries."

Also describing President Buhari as Nigeria's chief sales officer, Princewill said the president does not need to stay back and expect any good relationships with sister countries.

“With the damage to our reputation from corruption, crime and the self afflicted injuries of PDP’s 16 years of misrule, we can’t expect the President to stay in one place and think that things will improve," he said.

Declaring his support for President Buhari's administration, the Russian trip and the investments in Nigeria will help reduce the unemployment rate of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Buhari travelled to Sochi, Russia where he met with President Vladimir Putin at the Russia-Africa 2019 summit.

During the visit, the Russian government agreed to support Nigeria with, the construction of 1,400-kilometre railway track from Lagos to Calabar.
