Adamawa governor nominates Atiku’s son as commissioner

- Atiku Abubakar's son has been nominated as a commissioner in Adamawa state

- Adamu Abubakar was nominated by the governor of the state Ahmadu Fintiri

- The appointment of Adamu was made known on the floor of the Adamawa state House of Assembly by the speaker

The governor of Adamawa state on Wednesday, October 23, Ahmadu Fintiri, appointed the son of the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, as a commissioner in his cabinet.

Daily Trust reports that the appointment of Adamu Abubakar is one of two nominations from Jada local government area of the state made by Fintiri.

Also nominated are two other loyalists of Atiku, Umar Daware and Ibrahim Mijinyawa.

Daware and Mijinyawa had earlier decamped to from APC to PDP after resigning their position as commissioners in the immediate past administration.

The list of nominees submitted to the Adamawa state House of Assembly by the governor was read out on the floor by the speaker, Aminu Iya Abbas.

In response o the list of nominees, the chairman of the House committee on information, Japhet Kefas, informed the House that a date would be fixed for the screening of the candidates for commissioner positions.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Senator Elisha Abbo had alleged that Finitiri was threatening the existence of the PDP in Adamawa state.

Abbo also accused the Adamawa state governor of the running a dictatorship style of leadership in the state.
