Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is one of seven Reds stars named alongside Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Lionel Messi on the 30-man shortlist for the 2019 Ballon d'Or.

Other Liverpool stars listed are Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Georginio Wijnaldum and Alisson.

The full 30-man shortlist:

Ajax: Donny van de Beek, Dusan Tadic. Arsenal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Atletico Madrid: Joao Felix

Barcelona: Frenkie de Jong, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann. Bayern Munich: Robert Lewandowski. Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo, Matthjis de Ligt.

A further breakdown of players shortlisted revealed that Champions League winners Liverpool have more squad members making the cut.

Premier League champions Manchester City have two players - Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva while Tottenham are represented by Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min.

Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is flying Arsenal’s flag on the list.

In addition, three clubs have two players each on the list - Ajax (Dusan Tadic and Donny van de Beek), Barcelona (Frenkie de Jong and Marc-Andre ter Stegen) and Juventus (Ronaldo and Matthijs de Ligt).

Equally, the following clubs Bayern Munich (Robert Lewandowski), Paris St-Germain (Kylian Mbappe) and Real Madrid (Karim Benzema) have one representative each listed.
